RODNEY CAMBELL aka RAW GROUP NAME UTG ( UNDA THA GUN).

ROD CAMPBELL AND HIS BROTHER MICHAEL WERE ONE OF THE FIRST GROUPS THAT WE MET IN SAN JOSE, CA. WE WERE INTRODUCED TO SUCH BAY AREA LEGENDS SUCH AS ANDRE NICKATINA, RAPPIN 4TEY, SAN QUINN, JT THA BIGGA FIGGA AND MANY MORE. THEY PRODUCED TOP NOTCH ENTERTAINMENT ON STAGE AS WELL IN THEIR STYLE OF HIP HOP. OTHERS THAT WE WERE INTRODUCED TO AND DID SHOWS WITH IN THE LATE 90's WERE CHINA'S CABANET, JIGGALO, FAT DUKE, DUBB C B-LIGIT AND WARREN G JUST TO NAME A FEW. ROD IS STILL MAKING GREAT MUSIC FROM THE FRESNO, CA. AREA.

WORKING WITH 2 SHORT

I FIRST MET 2 SHORT IN 1986 WHILE I WAS WORKING IN A CLOTHING STORE IN DALY CITY, CA. HE CELLI CELL, E-40. RAPPIN 4-TAY SAN QUINN, JT THE BIGGA FIGGA THEY ALL CAME TO OUR STORE TO GET THE LATEST IN FASHIONS THAT THEY CHANGED THE STYLE OF DRESS FOR LOCAL HIP HOP PERFORMERS. LITTLE DID I KNOW AT THE TIME THAT THEY WOULD GO ON TO BE STARS IN THE HIP HOP WORLD. I AM GLAD I MET THEM WHEN THEY WERE COMING UP AND STILL TO THIS DAY I REMEMBER THEM AND THE P-COATS AND CREAME OF SILK SHIRTS AND THE VERSACE BELTS AND LEISURE SHIRTS WITH THE BIG COLLARS.

LAS VEGAS, NV. 2004

IN 2004 I STAGE MANAGED A BIG SHOW AT THE EMERALD PALACE IN LAS VEGAS, NV. WE PUT ON STAGE OVER 30 OF THE BAY AREAS BEST ARTISTS AND 2 SHORT WAS THE HEADLINER. WHEN THE SHOW WAS ALMOST OVER AND THEY WANTED SHORT TO COME ON NEXT. IT BECAME QUITE OBVIOUS TO ME THAT THE ARTISTS THAT PUT THIS SHOW ON AND HAD BROUGHT ME OUT FROM THE BAY AREA TO MARKET AND THAT NIGHT BE THE STAGE MANAGER HAD NOT PERFORMED YET. SO I WENT OVER TO SHORT AND SPOKE TO HIM AND LET HIM KNOW WHAT WAS UP. HE AGREED AND I GOT THE YOUNGSTERS ON AS THE OPENING ACT FOR 2 SHORT THAT NIGHT. THEY COULDN'T STOP THANKING ME FOR DOING THAT BUT THEY FORGOT ONE THING THAT NIGHT. THEY DIDN'T PAY ME FOR MY ABILITY TO RUN THE SHOW AND GET THEM ONE. I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT BUT I LOVED THEM AND THEY WENT ON FROM THERE TO MAKE IT IN THE INDUSTRY.
